I’ve had a production meeting, I’ve got my script in hand. I guess that means it’s time to make the announcement. In February I will be filming my first fantasy adventure!

The Wizards of Daggordale is a very special film, and a pilot for a future web series. A pair of adventurous, singing, wizards seek the ancient Book of Runes, full of spells and enchantments. Unfortunately they seek it from me: the Harpy Queen. Let the magical battle ensue!

Sadly I cannot tell you the most special part of this film, as I am sworn to secrecy. And as a fantasy film shooting much of the time on green screen, there will indeed be months of post production before you can see it, and before I have much more to say about it. But hopefully we will have photos! (…I will be purple, I hear.)

diary of a superfluous man

I have officially entered the audio world, with today’s release of my first audio play! You know, a radio play, but without the low-tech radio thingy. Diary of a Superfluous Man is presented by The McCroskey Memorial Internet Playhouse and is available as a free podcast on iTunes or can be downloaded direct from their website, theinternetplayhouse.com. I have a couple prominent, though brief scenes, but I am confident you will enjoy the entire play while waiting for my voice to appear. Here is the producer’s blurb:

An anti-romantic comedy in two acts, Diary of A Superfluous Man concerns the misadventures of Chulkaturin, a tax official of late Imperial Russia, who, in chasing an improbable romance with a young lady of good family, battles against both a Russian prince and a fate that decreed him at birth to be “an extraneous bolt in the machinery of eternity.”

No, I don’t want you to marry me. It’s a short film. Writer and director Nathan Haugaard is flying in from LA tomorrow, with crew and most of the cast in tow to begin filming in my beautiful Seattle. I say “most” because I’m already here. Yes, that’s right. I’m finally doing a film project! There will be fun, and ferries, and flying fish. We are even filming in the 113 year old Carroll’s jewelery store before it shamefully gets gutted by the building’s owner. Stay tuned for more details. Me? I got work to do.

Here is the scoop on my next upcoming show! From Absurd Reality Theatre:

In Don Nigro’s tale about love and creation, the actors of ART take on a modern day love story for a generation Tracy, a 20 year old antagonist of her own life. She finds herself torn between her need for safety and her certainty that all human relationships eventually turn into nightmares. Ben is simplistic in his unfaltering acceptance of Tracy and the world around him. They’ve got all the words in the world, but can they find the right ones to communicate? Seascape is a story of people who promise according to their hopes and perform according to their fears. It questions whether any really functional relationship between a man and a woman is possible, and yet ensures us dysfunction is okay, even desirable.

It’s been a busy couple of weeks, full of auditions, and wouldn’t you know they’ve yielded results. I am now represented by abc model/talent/sport management and I have been cast in my first Seattle production. The play is ‘Seascape with Sharks and Dancer’ produced by Absurd Reality Theatre. It shows through much of April, but stay tuned for exact dates… this one’s gonna be fun…
